Supplier Spotlight · Flooring
Why we source flooring from West Coast Floors
After running close to a hundred renovations across Greater Vancouver, our short list of trusted suppliers has gotten shorter, not longer. For flooring, one name has stayed on it.
Every renovation starts the same way: a homeowner walks into the conversation with a Pinterest board, a budget, and one harder-than-it-sounds question. What flooring should we pick?
Engineered hardwood, solid hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, porcelain — every supplier in the Lower Mainland will swear theirs is the best. After dozens of installs in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and the North Shore, our criteria for who we send a client to has tightened.
Four bars a flooring supplier has to clear
- Quality you can verify with your hand. Not a brochure — a sample you can flex, scratch, and put your weight on.
- Honest pricing across tiers. From "starter home that still looks great in 10 years" to "high-end primary residence."
- In-stock availability. Nothing kills a timeline like a back-ordered floor.
- Staff who know the product. Ask about Janka hardness or radiant heat tolerance. If you get a blank stare — next supplier.
West Coast Floors, based in Surrey, clears all four.
The showroom is bigger than it looks
Their main space at 13210 Comber Way carries a deeper SKU range than most Lower Mainland chains. Full plank examples laid out in natural light — the way they'd actually look in a home, not thin sample cards on a wall.
For clients coming from Vancouver or the North Shore, it's worth the drive.
The pricing tiers actually work
West Coast carries premium hardwood for our high-end Vancouver West-side projects, reliable engineered options in the mid-tier, and laminate that holds up in rental-property upgrades. We've used the same supplier across three very different price points and three very different clients. Same warm reception every time.
The staff use the product they sell
Every client we send walks back with two things: the samples they came for, and answers to questions we didn't ask them to ask. That's the mark of staff who actually install and live with this material.
Projects where we've used them
- Engineered oak across an open-concept main floor in West Vancouver
- Wide-plank European hardwood in a Vancouver West-side primary suite
- Luxury vinyl plank across a basement build-out in North Vancouver
- Hardwood-look laminate across a 1,400 sqft Burnaby rental
- Porcelain tile entry + powder room in a Richmond renovation
Each one came in on budget. Each homeowner is still happy with the finish.

If you're in the middle of a renovation and want one less decision to make — we handle supplier visits, sample selection, and ordering as part of project management. You tell us what you like; we bring back three options that fit budget, timeline, and the rest of the design.
